If Given was to join the Chelsea staff, it would see both Newcastle icons plying their coaching trade at Premier League clubs with Harper currently the academy goalkeeping coach with the Magpies.

Derby would presumably be reluctant to allow Given to leave and it remains to be seen how much the Championship club would want in compensation for him.

Premier League: Manchester United fans tell club how many signings to make in January transfer window

Manchester Utd is eyeing reinforcements in January after selling several players during the summer. Manchester United’s supporters have told the club to sign two or three players during the January transfer window.

Jadon Sancho, Declan Rice, and James Maddison are understood to be among United’s top targets, although it is unlikely any of those three would be attainable during a January window.

In terms of outgoings, Nemanja Matic is open to leaving the club due to a lack of game time. The Serb has barely featured this term and is currently sidelined with an unspecified injury.

Matic has been linked with a move to Inter Milan and is out of contract at the end of the season so United may decide to sell him in January to ensure they recoup a fee for him.

He has a long contract and it would not be easy to take him away from Arsenal he is their vice-captain. We will see how the season goes.

Thierry Henry is back in management

The Arsenal legend has described it as an honor to become the head coach of Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact.

The 42-year-old has signed a two-year deal to become the head coach of the MLS side with Henry returning to the league having played for New York Red Bulls between 2010 and 2014.

This is the first job for Arsenal's leading goal scorer since he left League 1 side Monaco earlier this year with Henry unable to turn around the fortunes of the French side which were 19th at the time of his departure.
